Manila : The death toll from a 6.9-magnitude earthquake that hit the central Philippines has risen to 69, a disaster official said on Wednesday as the government mobilised agencies to search for survivors and restore power and water supplies. Chennai : Nine workers were killed in an accident at a thermal power plant that is under construction in the southern Indian city of Chennai, officials said on Tuesday. The incident occurred when a steel arch collapsed at a construction site at the Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Power Project, said J. Radhakrishnan, secretary of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and chairman of the plant’s owner, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation. Riyadh : The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federative Republic of Brazil signed a partnership agreement in digital economy and emerging technologies, including support for joint investments in innovation. The meeting focused on opportunities in research and development of modern technologies that will support innovation and enhance digital growth in both countries.
