Geneva : The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday officially requested that China provide detailed information on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children. Chinese authorities from the National Health Commission held a press conference on November 13 to report an increase in incidence of respiratory diseases in the country, the WHO said in a statement. Manama : Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announces that the BD 35 million monthly issue of Government Treasury Bills has been oversubscribed by 113%. The bills, carrying a maturity of 182 days, are issued by the CBB, on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The issue date of the bills is November 26 and the maturity date is May 26 2024. The weighted average rate of interest 6.38% compared to 6.39% of the previous issue on November 5. Manama : The National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) has conducted 174 inspection visits within the local markets of the governorates of Bahrain during October. The campaigns resulted in reporting 37 violations that required the imposition of administrative fines in accordance with the VAT & Excise Law, in addition to monitoring several suspicions of VAT and excise evasion that may require the precautionary closing of several businesses.
