Riyadh : Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and its Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), participated in the Preparatory Senior Officials Meeting of the eighth Extraordinary Islamic Summit, set to take place in Riyadh on Saturday.   The participants discussed a number of topics, including the draft final statement to be submitted to the Extraordinary Islamic Summit regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Riyadh : The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) Chief Executive Officer, Sultan Al-Marshad, has signed 14 new development loan agreements with 12 African ministers, worth over $580 million to fund projects in healthcare, water, education, and transportation sectors in Angola, Burkina Faso, Benin, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Guinea, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania. Mexico City : Authorities found 123 Central and South American migrants trapped in a trailer in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico’s immigration agency said Thursday. Officials from the state attorney general’s office found the migrants in Matehuala, a city on the border of Nuevo Leon, on Wednesday after a local reported hearing cries for help from a locked trailer box. The majority of migrants rescued were from the Central American nations of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador, as well as four from Ecuador and one Cuban, according to Mexico’s National Immigration Institute.
