Manama : The Ministry of Labour has announced the start of the implementation of the Ministerial Edict concerning the prohibition of outdoor work during midday. The ban will be enforced from June 15 to September 15, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Under the edict, it is prohibited to engage workers in direct sunlight or open areas during the designated period. Bahrain enforces this ban in line with international labour standards to enhance the protection of workers from occupational illnesses and injuries during the peak of summer, when temperatures and humidity levels are high. Brussels : The European Commission announced the need for approximately €241 billion (around $277 billion) in investments by 2050 to expand nuclear energy production across the European Union. New Delhi : The death toll from the crash of an Air India passenger aircraft has risen to 279, according to Indian authorities. India’s Minister of Home Affairs said that the final official death toll will be announced following the completion of DNA identification tests. Jakarta : One person was killed and another injured in a shooting incident on the Indonesian island of Bali, police confirmed on Saturday. An Australian man died from gunshot wounds at a villa near Mengwi Beach in Badung, Bali, while another Australian was injured in the same attack, according to Local police chief Arief Batubara. Batubara said that an investigation has been launched and that police are currently seeking witnesses. The victims were transported to a hospital in Denpasar, the capital of Bali. Batubara said the motive and perpetrator remain unknown pending the outcome of the investigation.
