Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 1,137 inspection campaigns and visits, during February 2 – 8, which resulted in the detention of 30 violating and irregular workers, while 124 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of several regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations. Yeosu : A fishing trawler sank in waters off South Korea’s southern coast early Sunday, leaving three people dead and seven missing. The 139-ton vessel with 14 crew members on board was reported missing at 1:41 AM in waters about 17 kilometers east of the island of Habaek, near Yeosu, located 316 kilometers south of Seoul. Coast Guard vessels and other fishing boats rescued seven crew members — three South Koreans and four foreigners. But all three South Koreans died, including the vessel’s 66-year-old captain. Seoul : Heavy snow and strong winds disrupted flights at Jeju International Airport, the main gateway to Jeju Island, on Friday, leading to significant flight cancellations, according to South Korean authorities. As of 3 p.m. local time, 102 domestic departures, 121 domestic arrivals, and 16 international flights scheduled for takeoff or landing at Jeju International Airport had been canceled.
