Washington : Researchers at The Ohio State University have developed a battery that efficiently generates electricity from nuclear waste, offering a potential solution for repurposing radioactive materials. Radioactive waste poses environmental and health risks and is difficult to dispose of. However, it also contains untapped energy. Scientists in the United States have explored this potential by creating a compact battery, measuring just four cubic centimeters, that converts nuclear energy into electricity using light radiation. Seoul : GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., said Tuesday its monthly sales for February jumped 25.9 percent on-year thanks to an increase in overseas demand. According to Yonhap news agency, GM Korea sold 39,655 vehicles last month, compared with 30,630 units sold a year ago, the company said. Overseas sales rose 33.3 percent to 38,173 units, while domestic sales sank 25.4 percent to 1,482 units. The Trax Crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) led the overall sales, selling 26,114 units overseas and 1,120 units in the local market.
Washington : SpaceX on Monday called off its eighth Starship test flight from Texas over an unspecified issue on the rocket system’s core, delaying for at least 24 hours the company’s attempt to deploy mock Starlink satellites in space for the first time.
