Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 957 inspection campaigns and visits, during the period of 16 to 22 March 2025, which resulted in the detention of 16 violating irregular workers, while 52 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of several of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (19) of 2025, assigning the Legal Affairs Minister to carry out the duties of the Labour Minister, based on a proposal by the Prime Minister and following the Cabinet’s approval. According to the decree, the Legal Affairs Minister shall, in addition to his duties, carry out the responsibilities of the Labour Minister for a period of six months. This decree shall take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Beijing : A Chinese team has developed a small robot that can operate in the world’s deepest sea trench under extremely high pressure. The robot’s operational ability is an engineering marvel that was previously achievable only by large, rigid submersibles weighing several tonnes. Drawing inspiration from the movement patterns of the batfish, researchers led by Beihang University faculty members designed a 50-centimeter-long robot capable of swimming, gliding and crawling. New York : Tuberculosis continued to rise again in the US last year, reaching its highest levels in more than a dozen years. More than 10,300 cases were reported last year, an 8% increase from 2023 and the highest since 2011, according to preliminary data posted this month by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
