Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued a circular on the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. The circular stipulates that the Kingdom’s ministries and public institutions will close on the day of Eid Al-Fitr and the two days that follow.

Windhoek : Namibia’s newly elected President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah pledged to boost investments in the agricultural sector and diversify the resource-focused economy in an attempt to address high unemployment rates. Nandi-Ndaitwah, 72, became Namibia’s first female president, securing victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections in November. She also committed to diversifying the economy, enabling citizens to “derive maximum benefits from our country’s natural resources, through value addition”. Seoul : South Korean authorities will intensively deploy helicopters to battle the deadly wildfires that have engulfed the southeastern county of Sancheong for the fourth consecutive day Monday, as the blaze is spreading to the adjacent Hadong County. As many as 36 helicopters were deployed to the two counties in South Gyeongsang Province, about 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul, beginning Monday morning, to contain the wildfires, according to the provincial government.
