Cairo : Egypt’s Health, Petroleum, and Labour Ministers are monitoring the aftermath of an offshore accident late Tuesday involving the Adam Marine 12 drillship near Gebel El Zeit in the Gulf of Suez. Twenty-seven ambulances were dispatched 20 to the site and seven to El Gouna Airport. Four injured were airlifted, and 18 others were transported by road to El Gouna Hospital. Authorities have raised alert levels across Red Sea health facilities as rescue and monitoring operations continue. Updates will follow as the situation develops.

Manama : Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, announced that 2,584 housing finance applications, across the Tas’heel, Tas’heel+, Mazaya, and Mazaya (New Category) programmes, were approved in the first half of 2025. Minister Al Rumaihi noted that since the programme’s launch in 2022, a total of 10,163 applications have been accepted, with 82% of beneficiaries transferred from the traditional service waiting lists to immediate financing services. Istanbul : Firefighters battled wildfires in Turkey and France on Monday and more than 50,000 people were evacuated as an early summer heatwave hit Europe. Health alerts were issued in France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Germany. Even countries with a milder climate such as the Netherlands issued a warning for high temperatures in the coming days coupled with high humidity.
Zhengzhou : Two people have died and six others are still missing following torrential rains in Xixia County in the city of Nanyang, central China’s Henan Province, the local emergency response headquarters said Tuesday. Torrential downpours with total precipitation of 225.3 mm in two townships triggered a sudden surge in the water level in the downstream of a local river on Monday, damaging infrastructure and leaving some residents trapped. Following the flooding, rescue efforts were immediately implemented, with two people successfully rescued. Further search and rescue efforts are underway in the quest to locate the missing individuals.
Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 741 inspection campaigns and visits during the period of June 22-28, which resulted in the detention of 19 violating and irregular workers, while 139 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of several regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations. Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today issued a circular announcing the official holiday in observance of Ashura. In accordance with the circular, all ministries, government departments, agencies, and public institutions in the Kingdom will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, corresponding to 5 and 6 July. As Saturday falls on an official holiday, it will be compensated with a holiday on Monday, 7 July.
Tunisia : Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chair of the 44th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, participated in the high-level Arab regional meeting hosted by the Republic of Tunisia to prepare for the Second World Summit for Social Development, set to be held in the State of Qatar this November. Manama : In a new international achievement for the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has won membership in the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028. This came through the election of Atif Mohammed Al Khaja, CEO of the BCCI, to the WCF Executive Committee, during a council session with representatives from over 120 countries.
