Manama : The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced that through the unwavering vigilance of its personnel, the BDF’s air defence systems continue to successfully counter successive waves of the hostile terrorist Iranian aggression. Since the onset of hostilities, air defences have intercepted and destroyed 174 ballistic missiles and 391 drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain. The General Command expressed its pride in the exceptional combat readiness and vigilance demonstrated by BDF personnel, and commended their sustained operational effectiveness in defending the Kingdom. Kabul : Severe flooding caused by thunderstorms in parts of Afghanistan has left 17 people dead and 26 injured, causing widespread damage to property and infrastructure. The number of casualties could increase as crews from the country’s National Disaster Management Authority continue to survey the affected areas and assess the damage, the authority’s spokesman Yousuf Hammad said in a statement. Hammad said the severe weather also left 147 homes either completely or partially destroyed, damaged 80 kilometres of roads, and destroyed large areas of agricultural land and irrigation canals. Kuwait : The Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait announced that explosive ordnance disposal teams dealt with 11 reports of falling debris resulting from defensive interception operations over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of reports since the start of the Iranian aggression on the country to 599. Brigadier Nasser Bouslaib, Interior Ministry spokesperson, said during a media briefing that sirens were activated 12 times in the past 24 hours, bringing the total activations since the beginning of the incidents to 158. Manama : The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has announced lifting a fishing ban on spangled Emperor (Shaari), rabbitfish (Safi) and seabream (Andag), from April 1 to May 31, according to Edict (2) of 2024. The Council noted that the measure forms part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to preserve marine resources, promote environmental sustainability, rehabilitate ecosystems, and increase both the quantity, and diversity of marine life available in local markets. Manama : Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) confirmed that its facility was subject to an Iranian attack on Saturday March 28, 2026. A statement issued by Alba said: “The safety and security of Alba’s people remain its top priority and the Company confirms that two of Alba’s employees sustained minor injuries.” Alba is assessing the extent of the damage to its facilities and remains focused on maintaining its operational resilience and the safety of its employees. Manama : Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the regular meeting of the Water Resources Council. The Council reviewed the progress made in implementing the National Water Strategy (2021 – 2030), which reflected the effectiveness of the efforts exerted in this vital sector. The overall completion rate for the strategy’s indicators, projects, and initiatives reached 81%. Manama : In the interest of safeguarding seafarers amid the blatant Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain, using missiles and drones, and the serious risks this poses to the safety of citizens and residents, the Interior Ministry announced a ban on maritime movement for seafarers using fishing and leisure vessels, as part of the measures taken to protect Bahrain’s coasts. The ban will be in effect from 06:00 PM (18:00) until 04:00 AM (04:00), starting today and until further notice.
