Doha : His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, met with Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, at Lusail Palace.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments and their implications, particularly ongoing tensions in the Middle East and their impact on global energy security and supply chains.
His Highness the Amir expressed appreciation for the Italian Republic’s positions and highlighted the strong relations between the two countries, while Prime Minister Meloni emphasised her country’s keenness to continue coordination and consultation with Qatar on issues of mutual interest.
The two sides underscored the importance of de-escalation and prioritising political dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address current crises, stressing the need for concerted international efforts to maintain regional stability.
They also discussed bilateral cooperation and means to further develop it across various sectors, particularly in the economy and energy, in a manner that serves shared interests.
