A new initiative has been launched by one of Bahrain’s leading private hospitals to provide outpatient consultation amidst the prevailing situation in Bahrain. Al Hilal Hospital announced the launch of ‘Dr. Hilal’, a consultation service of its doctors through an online video platform.
The free service can be availed by booking an appointment through the Hospital’s website. Hospitals across Bahrain are quickly expanding to adopt new remote services to help the community.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended using telemedicine to direct patients to the right site of care during the outbreak. The World Health Organization—which designated COVID-19 a global public health emergency in January—said healthcare organizations should consider using telemedicine.
While the technology has been around for years, now many health care providers are looking for better ways to use the tech to its full potential.
