Manam : NBH Loop E, Zallaq – Al Hilal Healthcare Group and Jetour Bahrain, in association with the Bahrain Cycling Association, successfully hosted the 5th season of the “Defeat Diabetes” Cyclothon on Friday, 28 November 2025. as part of Diabetes Awareness Month.
The event aimed to raise an awareness on diabetes prevention, early detection, and the importance of adopting healthier lifestyles. More than 800 participants from across Bahrain took part, reflecting the community’s growing commitment to health and wellness.

The event commenced at 7:30 AM with registration, as cyclists gathered for the ride. This year,
Jetour Bahrain was a key event partner, showcasing their vehicles at the venue to provide an
engaging experience for participants and visitors. Additionally, the event’s videography was captured from panoramic cars provided by Jetour Bahrain. The Live FM 107.2 team, including RJ Vyomah and RJ Juhi, provided live coverage of the event. Before the ride began, a short welcome ceremony was held during which bouquets were presented to all guests and representatives, acknowledging their valued presence and continued support for community health initiatives.
Dr. Sharath Chandran, CEO of Al Hilal Healthcare Group; Mr. Manaf Kassem, Jetour – Principal Dealer; Mr. Asif Mohammad, Vice President of Strategy & Business at Al Hilal Healthcare Group; and Mr. Sahal Jamaludeen, Finance Manager at Al Hilal Healthcare Group graced the event.
Attendees included Mr. Ejaz Chaudhry, Executive Director of Manama Packaging Industry; Mr. Shubber Hilal Alwadaie, General Secretary of the Bahrain Cycling Association, also present as the
main representative from the Association. Mr. Mohamed Wasiullah, Assistant General Manager of
Ansar Gallery; and Sara Al Sammak, Founder of the Cycling Bees Women’s Team, and Mr. Adil
Marhoon, Coach at the Bahrain Cycling Association, were also called on stage during the ceremony.

The cyclothon was officially flagged off by Dr. Sharath Chandran (CEO, Al Hilal Healthcare Group),
followed by Mr. Manaf Kassem (Jetour – Principal Dealer), Mr. Asif Mohammad (Vice President, Al
Hilal Healthcare Group), and Mr. Sahal Jamaludeen (Finance Manager, Al Hilal Healthcare Group).
Together, they greeted participants and recognized the strong collaboration that contributed to the event’s success.
Once flagged off at 8:00 AM, cyclists proceeded along a safe and inclusive route suitable for all ages and experience levels. Participants wore Al Hilal–branded T-shirts, demonstrating their collective support for diabetes awareness and the importance of adopting healthier lifestyle habits across Bahrain.
The event received strong support from partners and sponsors, including Manama Packaging
Industry WLL, Pocari Sweat, and Live FM 107.2. Attendees benefited from complimentary full-body
check-up coupons covering 60 tests, certificates of participation, event T-shirts, snacks and
refreshments, and exclusive healthcare discount vouchers and giveaways.

Building on the success of this year’s cyclothon, Al Hilal Healthcare Group—with its 10 branches
