Abu Dhabi : The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Broaden Energy, a global leader in hydrogen energy solutions, to establish Abu Dhabi’s first hydrogen equipment manufacturing complex.
This initiative aims to support Abu Dhabi’s Industrial Strategy (ADIS) by developing the hydrogen energy sector, enhancing sustainability efforts, and bolstering Abu Dhabi’s position as a competitive industrial hub in the region.
The new manufacturing complex, valued at over AED 1 billion, is set to create job opportunities and drive economic development and innovative industrial solutions.
ADDED and Broaden Energy will collaborate closely to ensure the project aligns with the UAE National Hydrogen Strategy and the Net Zero 2050 Strategy. The UAE aims to become one of the world’s top 10 hydrogen producers by 2031, with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tonnes.
The establishment of local hydrogen equipment manufacturing is expected to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s energy infrastructure and reinforce its status as a centre for industrial excellence and technological innovation.
