Bahrain: On Saturday 17th June 2023 The Integrated Intervention Center (IIC), a center for special need children located in Um Al Hassm launched a program named AWASS (Awareness and Acceptance of special needs in Society). The drive behind the program is to bring awareness among community on special need children and responsibility of all stake holders to ensure rights of those children.
The first session of AWASS kick started where the focus was to address lack of awareness among parents of special needs children about importance of early intervention. Various therapies and training available which could which could aid the development of their children. Professionals from various fields like Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Behavior Therapy had addressed the parents during the event.

The event was attended by Indian Embassy representative Second secretary Mr. Ihjas Aslam, Eminent Business woman & Philanthropist Ms. Amal Almoayyed (Y.K lmoayyed family), Indian Industrialist like Mr. Mukesh Kavalani, Ms. Renuka Nambiar Ravindran, Ms. Shuba Damani, Devji family Ms. Shreedevi Devji, Dr. Praveen Kumar, Indian Club President K.M Cherian, Mr. Sudheer Thirunilath (Pravasi Legal cell) ,Specialists and parents of special needs children.
With their cultural performance the children of IIC won the hearts of everyone present. In their speeches the invited guests appreciated and endorsed the event and willingness to extend full support to AWASS and development of IIC, which was incepted to provide basic academics, Computer classes, Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, ABA, ..dealing sensory, behavioral, psychological etc..for Special needs children with Autism, down syndrome, dyslexia Cerebral palsy and associated physical and mental disabilities and conducts various activities to bloom and flourish the inherent potential of special needs children. The center now has internationally acclaimed therapies conducted by qualified therapists.
