Manama : Mango, the King of Fruits is here and all the Lulu Hypermarket outlets across Bahrain will celebrate the goodness of the popular fruit with the LuLu Mango Mania Festival starting today (EDITOR: May 17, 2023).
The Festival, featuring over 85+ varieties of mango from 14 countries was inaugurated at the hypermarket outlet in Dana Mall the Indian Ambassador H.E. Piyush Srivastava inaugurate the Mango Mania Festival, The 12 countries featured in the Festival are India, UAE, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, USA, Yemen, Uganda, Kenya and the Ivory Coast and Columbia and Peru.
Present at the inauguration were the Director of LuLu Group, Mr. Juzer Rupawala and senior officials of the Hypermarket along with VIP guests and media invitees.
The popular festival this year features a cookery contest where participants are invited to present desserts with the mango as main ingredient, great games in which the mango is the key to puzzles and visual representation and the inauguration even had a flash mob dance with the dancers in mango costumes.
The Mango Mania Festival is all about the goodness of the fruit in many forms – from juicy harvest to desserts to curries to pickles and smoothies. Besides mangoes ripe and raw, there will also be promotions galore and treats in the Lulu Hot Food and Cold Food section with items such as mango fish curry, mango chicken curry, stuffed chicken breasts with honey mango sauce, pickles, traditional treats like Aamras (mango puree) and puri bread and new age foods like mango and flax seed vegan smoothie.
The winners of the mango dessert culinary contest with US $500 in prizes was won by Safnas Tharanchandy, Adhiya Alikkal and Safeena Rafi.

Piyush Srivastava, “By showcasing these many varieties of mangoes, Lulu is bringing a world of good taste to Bahrain.”

The festival will run till May 23, 2023.
