Manama : Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, inaugurated WestPoint’s new expansion in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which includes a new factory producing fibre fillings used in bedding, pillows and filled products. The inauguration was attended by Jonathan Storey, CEO of WestPoint.
Minister Fakhro affirmed that the expansion of international industrial investments in Bahrain reflects the Kingdom’s competitive advantages and attractive investment environment. This aligns with the objectives of the Industrial Sector Strategy (2022–2026), which aims to develop manufacturing, increase the industrial sector’s contribution to GDP, improve supply chain efficiency and boost exports to regional and international markets.
He added that WestPoint’s investment expansion is an example of the success of industrial investments in Bahrain. He affirmed the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s commitment to supporting the growth and expansion of these investments to enhance the competitiveness of national products, expand local production and open up new opportunities to access Gulf Cooperation Council markets.
For his part, Jonathan Storey commended the Kingdom’s attractive investment climate. He said the new expansion was an important step in the company’s growth, building on the success of the first phase of towel production. It would expand the company’s manufacturing capacity to provide a comprehensive range of locally manufactured home textiles and meet growing demand in Gulf markets from Bahrain.
The new expansion includes the production of bedding fillings, pillows and various filled products. This will diversify the company’s locally manufactured textiles and strengthen its ability to supply markets with a comprehensive range of “Made in Bahrain” home products, including bed linen, towels, pillows and filled products.
The expansion follows Bahrain’s hosting of the first “Made in GCC 2026 Forum and Exhibition”, which highlighted opportunities to strengthen local manufacturing and meet growing demand in regional markets. Through its expanded facility, WestPoint aims to provide locally manufactured alternatives, strengthen supply chains and reduce reliance on imports from outside the region.
