Manama : As part of government efforts to continuously improve and re-engineer services, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has developed its electronic inquiry service for official marriage document issuance requests, enabling both parties to a marriage contract to check the status of their application and follow its stages electronically.
Under the upgraded service, applications are now processed instantly and automatically, compared to one working day previously. The Service Level Agreement (SLA) has also been reduced by at least 25%, while electronic service delivery has reached 100%. The development also included improvements to the user interface and experience, simplified procedures, automated service delivery, and standardised service information published across all channels.
Dana Khamis Al Zayani, Undersecretary for Undersecretary for planning and Family Reconciliation and Alimony at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, said the upgraded service enables couples to track the status of their application for the issuance of the marriage contract document after the marriage contract has been completed by the authorised marriage official, electronically through the Ministry’s website, moj.gov.bh, without the need to attend in person.
She explained that the service development aims to simplify procedures, save beneficiaries time and effort, expedite the issuance of official marriage documents, enhance the efficiency of government procedures, and improve the quality of services provided.
The development also supports digital transformation and the provision of more accessible, faster and more effective government services, enhancing the beneficiary experience.
