Muscat : Oman’s Etlaq Spaceport in Duqm successfully conducted a test launch of the Azad Dreamer rocket as part of the Karman X1 mission.
The 4.3-metre-long rocket, weighing 26 kilogrammes, followed a stable ascent while transmitting flight data to the spaceport’s control centre.
The rocket reached its targeted altitude within the test range. The mission was not intended to reach space, but instead focused on testing launch procedures, in-flight performance and associated technologies and systems.
Karman X1 marks the second successful launch from Etlaq Spaceport, following the successful Duqm-1 launch in December 2024.
The mission forms part of the Takween programme, launched in 2024 to facilitate suborbital and experimental rocket launches.
