Kuala Lumpur : The Ministry of Interior pavilion attracted visitors during activities accompanying the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, showcasing security services, initiatives and awareness programmes.
The ministry, represented by the Public Relations Directorate, presented the development of police work in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a model of the Police Fort and publications documenting the history of Bahrain Police.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence showcased the National Civil Protection Platform and its safety information and emergency preparedness services.
The General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing presented Bahrain’s experience in alternative sentencing and the Open Prisons Programme, including their objectives, related programmes and initiatives, outcomes, and products made by beneficiaries.
Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs showcased modern services and technologies, including e-passport services, visa application procedures and electronic services for citizens, residents and visitors.
The Child Protection Unit in Cyberspace at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security highlighted online risks facing children and measures to prevent and protect them from cybercrime and other digital threats.
Community Police presented the Maan (Together) Programme Against Violence and Addiction and awareness programmes for students aimed at preventing violence, addiction and negative behaviours.
The Protocol and VIP Protection Directorate displayed historic police uniforms, while the Special Security Force, Operations Directorate and Telecommunications Directorate provided logistical and technical services. The Police Band also performed national musical pieces.
The General Directorate of Media and Security Culture provided media coverage of the pavilion and its participating directorates.
The ministry’s participation highlights Bahrain’s experience in developing police work, adopting modern technologies and advancing security and public services before an international audience.
