Kuala Lumpur : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is serving as title sponsor of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026 at Sepang International Circuit, continuing a partnership that dates back to Bahrain’s first Formula 1 race in 2004.
The three day event, running from October 2 to 4, marks the first time the Bahrain Grand Prix has been held outside the Kingdom.
The Gulf Air fan zone at Sepang International Circuit is open to ticket holders throughout the race weekend, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the race atmosphere and learn more about Bahrain’s tourism and cultural offerings.
On race day, October 4, Gulf Air will conduct a flypast with a Boeing 787, marking the airline’s first such participation at a Formula 1 race outside Bahrain.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air, said Formula 1 and aviation share a focus on engineering excellence, safety and teamwork, noting that these shared values have underpinned Gulf Air’s partnership with the race for more than two decades.
He said hosting the race at Sepang in the same week that Gulf Air launched direct flights to Kuala Lumpur represented an important milestone for the airline and reflected the depth of relations between Bahrain and Malaysia.
