Aichi-Nagoya : His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and Head of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation, presented South Korea with the gold medals after the team defeated Japan 75-70 in the women’s basketball final at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali congratulated South Korea on winning the Asian title and commended the performances of both teams in the final, noting that the level of competition reflected the development of women’s basketball in Asia.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali said the performances of the participating teams reflected the growing attention given to women’s sport across Asia and the support contributing to its technical development and presence at major sporting events.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali also commended the efforts of the organising committee and the organisational and technical arrangements for the basketball competitions, wishing all participating teams further progress and success.
The 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, are being held in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
