Manama : The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today visited Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), where His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Alba’s national workforce.
During the visit, His Royal Highness commended the efforts and dedication of Alba’s national workforce in maintaining production, safeguarding Alba’s competitive position within the global industrial landscape, and its continued contribution to international aluminium output amid the hostile Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HRH the Deputy King stressed that Alba, established in 1971, is a living embodiment of the efforts and skills of Bahrain’s national workforce. In this regard, His Royal Highness noted that the national industrial project has maintained continuous production for 55 years.
His Royal Highness highlighted Alba’s evolution into a leading national enterprise, noting its continued expansion and development which is exemplified by the construction of the world’s largest single-site aluminium smelter.
His Royal Highness emphasised Alba’s leading global position within the aluminium industry and its contribution to the Kingdom’s comprehensive development led by His Majesty the King.
HRH the Deputy King underscored that the world-class standards of Bahrain’s industrial development were part of a decades-long vision, built on an ambition that realised that the sector’s development moved in lockstep with advancing national economic progress and strengthening human capital.
His Royal Highness noted that Bahrain’s industrial workforce carries forward the legacy of those who laid the foundations for these achievements, embodying the same commitment, perseverance, and excellence in overcoming every challenge.
HRH the Deputy King expressed his pride and appreciation for the company’s employees and their role in the continuous development of Alba’s production, enhancing product quality, and strengthening its global competitiveness, commending the achievements realised through the dedication of the company’s national workforce, including the milestone of recording 50 million safe working hours. In this regard, his Royal Highness reviewed the progress of operations across the production lines and the development projects currently being undertaken by the company
His Royal Highness also met with the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of Alba, as well as a number of the company’s national workforce, commending the national efforts and dedication in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities amid various challenges.
His Royal Highness welcomed Alba’s recent acquisition of Aluminium Dunkerque, the largest aluminium smelter in the European Union, noting that it supports the company’s ambitions to build a global low-carbon aluminium platform, strengthen its presence in global markets, and enhance its capacity for sustainable growth. With its advanced automation, integrated production capabilities, and strong base of skilled professionals, Aluminium Dunkerque is well positioned to benefit from growing European demand for sustainably produced aluminium.
For his part, Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chairman of Alba, expressed his appreciation for His Majesty’s recognition of the company’s employees, as well as for His Royal Highness’ visit to Alba and review of its programmes and plans.
The Chairman noted that His Royal Highness’ commendation of the efforts of the company’s national workforce is a source of motivation and pride for all employees to pursue further development in order to achieve the company’s desired goals.
