Manama : The Ministry of Youth Affairs has launched the Year of Isa Al Kabeer Art Exhibition and Competition as part of Youth City 2030, with applications open to Bahraini artists until August 4.
Artists are required to submit an online application along with a photo or preliminary sketch of their work. Selected entries will be showcased at the exhibition, which will run from August 17 to 20.
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, said the initiative reflects the ministry’s commitment to promoting national identity through art and encouraging young people to engage with Bahrain’s history and heritage, specifically highlighting the cultural legacy of His Highness the late Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies.
The exhibition welcomes original artworks inspired by the Year of Isa Al Kabeer, with themes including the development of the modern state, justice and the rule of law, national identity, education, Bahraini architecture, historical markets, maritime heritage, and leadership values. Participation is open to artists representing a wide range of artistic schools, movements, and practices.
Minister Tawfeeqi said the exhibition offers Bahraini artists an opportunity to showcase their creativity while celebrating the values and achievements that have shaped the Kingdom’s development.
