Manama : Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Jason Isaacson, Chief Policy and Political Affairs Officer of the American Jewish Committee (AJC).
The two sides discussed the close friendship and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States and explored opportunities to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest in support of shared objectives.
They also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the repercussions of the Iranian attacks against the Kingdom of Bahrain and other countries in the region, the risks posed by Iran’s continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz to global energy supplies, food security, and international trade, and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and preserve regional stability.
The discussions further addressed the announcement of an agreement to sign a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran aimed at ending the conflict, resolving outstanding issues, and advancing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, in addition to other matters of mutual interest.
