Manama : Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, visited Alia Early Intervention Centre and Alia Rehabilitation Centre, where she toured an art exhibition showcasing works by children with autism and reviewed training programmes aimed at preparing participants for employment opportunities.
The minister emphasised the tourism sector’s growing interest in supporting community talent and creativity and creating practical opportunities within the tourism industry in support of development initiatives.

The centres implemented a six-month training programme in cooperation with Le Méridien City Centre Bahrain, which resulted in several participants joining the labour market. Artwork from the exhibition was also displayed at hotel facilities in cooperation with Downtown Rotana.
The minister commended initiatives that reflect cooperation between relevant entities and the tourism sector, noting that investing in human capital and empowering different segments of society are key pillars in developing the tourism sector.

Dr. Shaikha Rania bint Ali Al Khalifa, Director of Alia Early Intervention Centre and Alia Rehabilitation Centre, said the visit reflects support for individuals with autism and efforts to highlight their artistic and professional capabilities.
She noted that cooperation with the tourism sector provides promising opportunities to transform training and creativity into sustainable employment opportunities.
Nicholas Gardier, General Manager of Downtown Rotana, said the partnership with Alia Early Intervention Centre represents a model of cooperation between the tourism sector and community institutions, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to social responsibility and supporting workforce integration initiatives.
