Manama : Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director General of Traffic, said that public safety is key to community stability, with traffic safety forming an important element in protecting road users.
He noted the launch of a qualitative initiative to equip motorcycles accompanying official convoys with an electronic plate system, aimed at guiding drivers on the safe driving conduct to be followed when an official convoy passes, contributing to the regulation of traffic flow and enhancing safety levels.
The Director General of Traffic highlighted the importance of motorists’ compliance with traffic instructions and their positive response to the guidance displayed on electronic plates, in line with the requirements of each situation, affirming that traffic safety remains a shared responsibility among all road users, based on awareness and cooperation, helping to establish a safe traffic environment that supports the safety of all members of society.
He also expressed appreciation to the team implementing the initiative from the Ministry of Interior and the University of Bahrain, commending their constructive cooperation, which contributed to the development and implementation of the initiative with the required quality to achieve its objectives of enhancing traffic safety. He also emphasised the importance of continuing institutional partnerships that support initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and community safety.
