Manama : Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC, attended the closing ceremony of the Khalid bin Hamad Schools Basketball Championship at Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa Town.
The event was also attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, alongside a distinguished official, educational and public presence.
The final match saw Al Hedaya Al Khalifiya Secondary Boys School defeat Al Rawabi Private School to claim the title, while Al Taawon Secondary Boys School secured third place after overcoming Nasser Centre for Science and Technology.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali crowned the winners, awarding gold medals to Al Hedaya Al Khalifiya, silver to Al Rawabi, and bronze to Al Taawon.
He affirmed that the championship reflects effective integration between the sports and education sectors and contributes to identifying and developing young talent, supporting national teams with promising athletes.
The Minister of Education expressed appreciation for the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and the success of the inaugural edition, noting the ministry’s continued efforts to expand school sports participation and enhance its role in supporting clubs and national teams.
