Manama : Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) announced its membership in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Partnership Programme (GHP) for 2026, reflecting its continued commitment to implementing global operational standards. This step builds on its ongoing efforts to enhance operational performance while maintaining high levels of safety and reliability in ground handling services at Bahrain International Airport.
BAS’s participation in the GHP programme highlights its continued focus on adopting international best practices in safety, efficiency, and service quality. The initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between airlines and ground handling providers, supporting greater standardisation and improved operational performance across the sector.
Zaeem Gama, Chief Commercial Officer of BAS, said they are proud to join the 2026 Ground Handling Partnership Programme as the aviation sector continues to evolve with growing demands for efficiency and reliability. He added that this reflects their commitment to international standards, their focus on best practices, and their ongoing efforts to improve operational quality and service delivery.
He added that even amid the current regional context, they remain focused on operational excellence and agile responsiveness to change. He said this commitment supports national efforts to develop the civil aviation sector, strengthen its economic contribution, and enhance its regional and international competitiveness. He noted that it also aligns with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the National Aviation Strategy 2026–2027.
