New York : Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, during his visit to participate in the Security Council meetings held under Bahrain’s presidency for April.
The meeting was also attended by Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates; Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Rowaie, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York; Ambassador Mohamed Abushaha, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations; and the accompanying delegations.
The meeting discussed developments in the regional situation, the implications of Iranian attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council member states and other Arab countries, and their impact on regional security and stability. They also addressed the risks of closing the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, as well as the United Nations’ efforts to promote international peace and security, support sustainable development, advance humanitarian work, and resolve conflicts worldwide.
