Manama : Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the regular meeting of the Water Resources Council.
The Council reviewed the progress made in implementing the National Water Strategy (2021 – 2030), which reflected the effectiveness of the efforts exerted in this vital sector. The overall completion rate for the strategy’s indicators, projects, and initiatives reached 81%. The strategy includes 40 initiatives, 22 of which have been completed, while 18 initiatives remain under implementation according to the scheduled timelines.
The relevant ministries provided detailed presentations on the initiatives they are contributing to within this strategy and the progress achieved in implementing their respective areas, ensuring the integration of government work to enhance water security.
The Council was reassured of the efforts made to provide a safe and stable flow of water, as well as the high level of proactive readiness of the water system and its continuous ability to secure needs efficiently and competently at all times.
