Manama : The following joint statement was issued by the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan:
The Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan reiterate their strong condemnation of Iran’s blatant acts of aggression, which constitute a clear violation of their sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.
This condemnation applies whether such aggression is carried out directly by Iran or through its proxies and armed groups operating in the region.
The signatory states particularly denounce attacks launched by Iranian-backed armed groups from the Republic of Iraq against multiple countries in the region, targeting civilian facilities and critical infrastructure. These attacks breach international laws and conventions and flagrantly violate United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which explicitly calls on Iran to immediately and unconditionally cease all aggression and threats against its neighbours, including through proxy forces.
While valuing their fraternal relations with the Republic of Iraq, the signatory states call on the Iraqi government to take urgent and effective measures to halt attacks launched from its territory by factions, militias, and armed groups.
This is necessary to preserve fraternal relations and prevent further escalation.
The signatory states reaffirm their inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which guarantees both individual and collective defence in the event of aggression. They reserve the right to take all necessary measures to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and stability.
Furthermore, the signatory states condemn actions that undermine regional security and stability, including operations by sleeper cells loyal to Iran and terrorist organisations linked to Hezbollah.
They commend the dedication and vigilance of their armed forces and security services, whose efforts to confront these threats, safeguard citizens, and dismantle terrorist networks serve as a critical shield for their homelands.
