Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa toured the desert regions in the Southern Governorate.
His Majesty was briefed on the efforts of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) to preserve the natural environment and wildlife in these areas. His Majesty also observed the rare Baobab tree, which His Majesty had ordered to be brought to Bahrain and planted. The Kingdom has successfully expanded its cultivation of the tree as part of ongoing efforts to protect wildlife and natural habitats.
His Majesty commended the plans, projects, and programmes of the SCE, as well as the cooperation and efforts of the relevant government authorities in preserving Bahrain’s valuable natural heritage.
His Majesty also directed that these regions receive further attention and care, especially as Bahrain boasts areas ideal for relaxation and holidays, particularly during this time of year.
