Kathmandu : 65 people are missing following landslides that swept away two passenger buses in Simultal, Chitwan district.
Indradev Yadav, Chitwan District Chief, said that one bus was carrying 41 passengers and the other 24 when the landslides occurred. He noted that the Nepalese police are conducting rescue operations.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Prime Minister of Nepal, expressed his sorrow over the incident and directed the relevant authorities to carry out search and rescue missions.
Local media report that at least 100 people have died due to floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains.
