Bahrain : In a sensational display of equestrian prowess, Their Highnesses the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee achieved a remarkable feat at the prestigious Monpazier Championship, held in France.

Taking place in the presence of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid, the event spanned a distance of 20km. It marked the debut of Their Highnesses’ the children of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid in a European endurance race.

Addressing the momentous occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa underscored the profound significance of Their Highnesses’ inaugural European race, highlighting its pivotal role in the fulfilment of their aspirations.
With resolute conviction, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to wholeheartedly supporting and accompanying them on their journey, maintaining the Kingdom of Bahrain’s unwavering trajectory of triumph in the realm of endurance riding.

HH Shaikh Nasser further remarked, “Those who have closely followed the Bahraini endurance’s journey are fully cognizant of its extraordinary strides and accomplishments. We consistently rely on the unwavering determination of our valiant riders across all domains. The participation of our children in their inaugural European event exemplifies their profound dedication and unwavering ardour for equestrian sports.”
Expanding on his statement, HH Shaikh Nasser stated, “We set our goals years ago, and today we reap the fruits of our efforts. We started by instilling a culture of love for horses in our children and ensuring their gradual training and development, leading up to their participation in local races held in Bahrain. With their remarkable progress and tremendous effort, they have earned a strong presence in their first European race. I will continue to support and closely follow their journey in the coming period.”
Khalid bin Hamad: Nasser bin Hamad’s Prominent Role
From his side, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his efforts in encouraging and showcasing the capabilities of the younger generation.
He noted that this support played a significant role in paving the way for the success of Their Highnesses in their participation in their first European competition.
He emphasised that HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has played a key role in encouraging the younger generation through organising local competitions and gradually progressing towards making their debut on the European stage.
Moreover, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that the European participation of Their Highnesses instils confidence in them, allows them to acquire experience, and adapt to the European environment to showcase their exceptional endurance and leadership skills. He assured that they are committed to supporting and encouraging them to achieve their full potential.

At the end of the race, Their Highnesses the children of HH Shaikh Nasser and HH Shaikh Khalid were crowned with trophies.

160km Race
Under the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Endurance Team will compete on Friday in the 160km race at the Monpazier Championship. 79 riders from various countries will feature in the highly-anticipated competition.
This championship serves as an important milestone leading up to the upcoming World Championship, which will be held in the same region in September of the following year, 2024.
Representing the Royal Endurance Team will be HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with riders Mohammed Al Hashimi and Asim Abdulwahid.
