Manama : The first round of the 15th King Hamad international golf trophy will kick off tomorrow at the Royal Golf Club in Riffa Views.
100 professional and amateur golfers from 15 countries and golf associations will take part in the 15th edition of the King Hamad Trophy, organised by the Bahrain Golf Association.
The annual international golf event, carrying the name of HM the King, the first supporter of the kingdom’s athletes, and its first golfer, is among the most interesting sporting platforms held in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab region, thanks to its distinguished reputation regarding its outstanding organisation and exciting rounds.
As many as 45 top seed professional golfers are participating in the 15th King Hamad Trophy, including holder, Tom Sloman, who will have to defend his title, amid fierce competition from professional golf players from Britain, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, in addition to professional golfers in other GCC countries.
The winner of this year’s three-day championship will get an invitation to the DP Tour World’s Bahrain Championship, to be held under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s patronage.
