Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, issued Edict (44) of 2025 regarding the reformation of the National Commission for Childhood, based on a proposal by the Minister of Social Development and following the approval of the Cabinet.
Article (I)
The National Commission for Childhood shall be restructured under the chairmanship of the Minister of Social Development, with the following members:
1. Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development – representing the Ministry of Social Development
2. Member of the Supreme Council for Women – representing the Supreme Council for Women
3. Head of the Family and Child Prosecution – representing the Public Prosecution
4. Director of Inspection and Occupational Safety Directorate – representing the Ministry of Labour
5. Director of Radio – representing the Ministry of Information
6. Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector – representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
7. Director of Early Education Licensing and Monitoring – representing the Ministry of Education
8. Assistant Legal Adviser – representing the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments
9. Head of the Juvenile Centre – representing the Ministry of Interior
10. Head of the Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit – representing the Ministry of Interior
11. Consultant Paediatrician at Government Hospitals – representing the Ministry of Health
12. Head of the Psychology Department – representing the University of Bahrain
13. Head of Youth Initiatives Department– representing the Ministry of Youth Affairs
14. Child Rights Commissioner – representing the National Institution for Human Rights
15. Head of Educational Supervision and Development for Nurseries and Kindergartens – representing the Children and Mothers Welfare Society
16. Head of the Our Responsibility Society – representing the Our Responsibility Society
The entities listed in items (2), (8), (11), and (14) above shall designate their representatives on the Committee.
Membership shall be for a renewable term of two years.
Article (II)
The relevant ministers shall implement the provisions of this edict, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the Official Gazette
